ComicPageOfTheWeekend: Frank Miller's The Spirit

You might now I'm a huge The Spirit fan. But let me tell you, Frank Miller's a pretty bad fit for the character. The Spirit's supposed to be a fun, pulp, old school quirky hero. Not a buff, tough, gritty noir vigilante.

Why did they let him direct the film? Oh, right. That was right off the success of Sin City. I have no idea if Miller or the producers were the ones asking for more of that. And The Spirit license was easy to snatch at that time... but it still doesn't make sense to me to this day.

And let's not pretend Miller's familiar with the character. The only actual thing he did related to the character was providing the below pinup cover art poster for his own film adaptation. Which is immediately just another Sin City pinup poster art. Sure, it looks nice and all, but it absolutely doesn't screem "Will Eisner" to me, personally...
