First on Dreamcast.
Then on Dreamcast AND PS2.
And finally on PS2 (alongside rumors of a ported Carrier 1).
In the end, Carrier 2 never saw the day.
But various details, pictures and videos of an early prototype of the follow-up made it out.
Called Carrier: The Next Mutation at some point, the game was expected to finally stand out apart from its inspiration Resident Evil.
It wasn't clear if the game would be a whole reimagining, a sidestory taking place at the same time, a prequel or just an unrelated similar story but another aircraft similar to the carrier Heimdal was seen in early footage.
And the RE-inspired gameplay was possibly ditched for a more action oriented one, no more slowly turning around like an awkward vehicle.
